Purveyors of Pub Music

Once upon a time, back in 2016, band founders JD Lauriat and Andrew Prete found themselves in an interesting situation. The band they were both a part of at the time had to abruptly cancel a show due to other members not being available. The venue asked if the two of them would be willing to do something on their own. Since they had nothing else to do, they reached out to their friend Robyn Buttery, who would come and join them on fiddle.
And thus, The Penniless Jacks were born.
It didn’t take long to find their sound. Guitar, fiddle, harmonica, and djembe gave them a unique sound to the various folk tunes that they all loved. Tavern music and sea shanties would become their bread and butter, and so they fell into the renaissance faire circuit.

While their fiddle player would soon move on to pursue their own career, the Jacks would eventually acquire the talents of Amanda Neves, Dori French, and Adrian Johnson. The best part about this group is that they really are just a group of friends who love music. They are here to have fun, and they intend to do so. If you also have a good time, that’s a bonus.
Flash forward to today, and they have played at 10 different Renaissance Faires and themed events, as well as a handful of “normal” gigs throughout New England. They have no intention to stop here. However, while the dream of touring through the US or abroad is wonderful, it’s definitely a challenge because, you see, they are but poor musicians… so they all have day jobs.
